I HATE DELTA

My mom and I are heading to Europe for Christmas and we booked direct round trip flights from JFK to Brussels. I'm a loyal United customer because I have so many miles with them but they wanted an arm and a kidney for a flight from DC to Brussels so I thought hey it would be fun to go up to NYC for a few days hang out and then fly with my mom since the ticket from NYC only cost one arm. Best laid plans and all that jazz....

I just received an email from Delta saying they are sorry for the inconvenience but on New Years Day when we leave we're now flying directly to ATL then on to JFK. They suddenly canceled the direct flight from Brussels to JFK for that day. WTF?!?!? How much sense does that make for me to fly over NY only to go back to NY a few hours later then I eventually have to get back to DC a few days later, so I'm flying over two place I need to be. Oh and the customer service chick I spoke to who said there's nothing they could do and couldn't compensate me in anyway. Fuck you, die bitch.

How's that for being honest.

Gee Honest...how do you REALLY feel? LOL!

That is THE stoopitest thing I have heard in a long time. WHY can't they stop in New York?

Amazing how when we wanna change something there is a change fee...but when THEY change it all you get is a form apology. HUMPH!

Holy shit miss H! You cussed!!! I didn't think you did that luv. And all it took was a fly over your current city from your old city to the ATL and... what the fucc??? I'm confused. That just made my head hurt and I'm not even the one flying. It could be worse. Try flying in one of those sardine cans they call NorthWest on a looong flight and try to unravel your crickety bonez afterwords. Geez...

that sucks. I feel your pain.

although I am surprised at how you expressed it... lol

Start a letter writting campaign ASAP. Call back and speak to someone else. Keep hanging up and calling back. Be sure you ask to speak to supervisors. Get all their names and write more letters. They'll get so tired of earing your name, they'll compensate you in some way. I do this all the time. This is pure piss-poor customer service. They are banking on you giving up.

@ Creole -- lol! Yeah I was a bit hot. Maybe it's my napsack of entitlement that has me stumped that they can arbitrarily re route a flight to a different part of the country although people paid for a certain routing.
@Luke Cage -- lol! I was livid and am still pretty pissed but I'll get over it.
@ Nikki - Unpredicatable regarding delays and lost luggage sure but completly rerouting a flight that was booked a month ago? Nah this is extra right here.
@ Rainmayun - lol! Once in a while a good rant is good for the soul.
@ Hostess - After writing this post I wrote them an email and am calling them to switch my flight which they better do for free from ATL to DC so I'm not flying over two cities I need to be in.

Update -- after calling back I got switched from ATL to DC and am receiving a $50 voucher toward another delta flight.

Give me a break, you have SO MANY miles on United, as you said, why on earth wouldn't you take your usual carrier and get more miles? You wrote "they wanted an arm and a leg." If your such a LOYAL United customer then take United or one of their partners.

Of course it makes no sense to fly OVER New York to Atlanta with YOU on the plane, jeez, what were they thinking? They really should think about making stops for the people on board. That $99.00 fare really should give me everything.

I have a great idea, Greyhound has some really great fares right now. You could take them from NY to DC. You can use the money you saved from not buying on United.

United has direct flights to Brussels from Dulles, so if your such a LOYAL member then use them! I always travel on United regardless of cost, think about it!

@gandg -- Thanks for your clearly sarcastic comment. I think I failed to mention in my post that the dulles to brussels flight on United was $1,000 and yes I'm a loyal united customer because 1) I use it for work and 2) because I have so many miles on united. I would have used my miles except the dates I'm traveling are blocked off.

Delta has direct flights from NYC and guess what I'm taking the greyhound up to NYC because I'm saving over $400. What they did was cancel the direct flight back to NYC and route us through ATL instead. Now if I had purchased the flight as it is now I wouldn't have any complaints but because they CANCELED and I had no SAY then I'm going to complain as much as I want.

Gandg if you want to use united regardless of the cost that's your business. I don't feel like paying an extra $400 for the priviledge and that's my business.

Oh one more thing, don't you ever come back onto my comment section with an attitude! If you can't respect my blog and give constructive feedback without this pissy ass tone don't return.

I have had a sucky experience with Delta just tonight. I paid extra money (about $400 between two of us) to fly out a day early and return home a day early. The flight was late, hence we missed our flight (plus they sent us to the wrong gate). It is hard to check gate numbers when you are running like hell to make your plane in 8 minutes. Deltas customer service was shit! They also said that we could not be reimbursed and that we had to email headquarters. We ended up paying an extra $400 to end up home at the same time as our original flight. I will never fly Delta again and I will tell my coworkers and friends to do the same.

I hate delta MOST OF ALL....because i used to work there! They docked my pay continuously, I was harrassed by managers, had to work nights weekends and holidays, .......

Then, it gets better. They sent me a BILL for almost 1,700 dollars after I quit, claiming overpayment of wages! Delta is a horrilbe company to work for

Sounds like somebody didnt take their chill pill today! I really dont see what the big deal is. Flights change .. plans change. That's life. You have to deal or not go. What are you going to do?! You cant expect to book a flight and not expect schedule changes they do that a lot. I never book a flight and except it will be the same in a couple months. Thats how ALL airlines work. Won't get any better else where so why stress?! It is what it is just like our sucky economy! lol

Have you heard the latest carp from Jeff Robertson (VP-Marketing Skymiles): No more mileage expiration! Don't believe it. This mother-fucker is the biggest liar in the airline industry. Mark my words, this asshole will increase the required miles for an award within the next 90 days. DON"T SUPPORT DELTA!
