Letter to UPS

A package was sent to my home address on 7/9/07 and arrived for delivery at my home on 7/10/07. That evening when I received my InfoNotice I contacted UPS immediately and ask that the address be changed to my work address since I was not going to be home during the day to receive the package. I receivd 2 subsequent infonotices and each time contacted the 1800 number located on the notice and asked them to send it to the new address. Every customer service representative I spoke to apologized for the mix up and stated that the package would reach me at the new address the next day. I called every single day since and was told the package would be on its way.

I finally recieved a call from the Landover, MD UPS location after asking three times for someone to notify me as to why I still haven't received my package at the correct address and they finally left a VM this morning on 7/17/07. Unfortunately I wasn't able to understand a word the UPS representative said because it appeared that they decided to stuff cotton in their mouth before dialing my number.

I would have never thought I'd experience this type of service from a company that seems to pride itself on customer service. It has been 7 days and I have not received my package yet one that would have shipped from Landover, MD to McLean, VA which is less than an hours drive away. It has taken 6 phone calls and I still haven't received my pacakge and yet when I asked for someone to contact me they gave the assignment to someone who could not articulate their name or phone number. This is absolutely deplorable. I hope you improve your customer service becuase the next time I'm sending a package for work or for personal use I'm not using UPS.

Side Note: I don't even know who sent me the package, I didn't order anything and I can only think it's someone sending me a birthday gift. IT better be good! lol!

Hope you had a happy birthday. Write a letter to the VP of the divisions involved (customer service, operations, etc.). I've seen a sight with the names and address of big wigs at big companies. I don't know the address but I'm sure if you google it, you can find someting. Stop talking to customer service reps and those clowns in MD.

They are holding your package hostage.

UPS cares a whole lot about their customers. The problem is they don't see you as the customer. They see the sender as the customer. They put a whole lot of resources into making sure people send packages with them, but once it's sent, they've already made their money. They don't care enough to try to make it convenient or easy for you to receive your package.

Do I sound bitter?

Happy Belated Birthday. I hope is was lovely.

I've had my own UPS traumas. I scheduled myself to receive an overnight delivery from UPS. The delivery arrived 3 days later. I tried to go to the station to pick it up and was told it was on the truck.

HAHAHAHA! Too funny. I had a pretty bad experience at America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses the other day and I meant to blast them out, but bless their ignorant hearts, they don't know any better. Sounds like this UPS fiasco is the same type deal. Hopefully, you get your package soon and happy belated birthday!

Miss H, definitely go FedEx. I've only used UPS several times and haven't had any issues. But I seem to be in the minority. Others have had similar situations to yours and I've since gone FedEx all the way. Happy Belated luv!

I was once supposed to get a check sent overnight via Airborne Express. First it didn't come, then they said the driver couldn't find my house. Then it happened again, then the supervisor called and asked for directions. Then it still didn't come. I think it took over a week. Bottom line is that every time there was a problem it was at about 4pm.

You don't have to be a secret agent to deduce that they didn't want to deal with ATL traffic near quittin time.

Hmm.. I have had fairly good success with UPS. In truth, they are a logistics company, not a parcel company. In your case, you did not know the package was enroute, so tracking could be a little difficult. *Aside* - UPS offers RSS feeds to track pkgs from origin to destination.

Don't feel alone, UPS didn't deliver my package and now they have me on a "signature only" status because the sending company filed a claim. I work nights and can't sign during the days and have no options for picking up packages. I called them and they simply don't care...ba-da-bing no more business for UPS from my house. They stink.
